This trick is part of the Diabolo Trick Roadmap (available on Amazon) which is a skill tree (containing 337 tricks from 1 to 3 diabolos) designed to give you a personalized list of tricks you’re ready to learn, taking into account the tricks you already know.
The tipping start is the easiest vertax start in my opinion and when you’ve mastered it, you will never go back to the normal start (trick #88). Even though you can learn it before #88, I recommend having the normal vertax start first to build up a good foundation.
As always the tutorial is described for righties so if you are left handed switch right and left in the step by step explanation.
Prerequisites
Step By Step Explanation
1. Start with a lot of speed and an internal wrap around your diabolo.
2. Make the diabolo tip, keeping it close to your right stick. The cup closer to you should go down while the cup further away from you should go up. You can make the diabolo tip either with the string touching the cups or with your right stick lightly touching the bottom right of the cup closest to you.
3. Before the diabolo tangles or drops (ie when the diabolo is at a 45° angle), start the vertax chinese acceleration.
4. While doing the chinese acceleration, keep your left hand up to get the diabolo fully horizontal. You are now in vertax.
