#38 – 1D Tuto – Double Slowcide

This trick is part of the diabolo trick roadmap, a tool designed to give you a personalized list of tricks you’re ready to learn according to the tricks you already know.

As always, the tutorial is written for righties, so if you are left-handed, don’t forget to mirror the instructions.

The double slowcide is basically : counterclockwise sun + external wrap = internal wrap ; with extra steps in the middle. The extra steps being an external unwrap and wrap by slowcide.

Prerequisites

Step By Step Explanation

Video tutorial coming soon

1. Make sure you have a decent amount of speed.

2. Do a counterclockwise (from your point of view) sun.

3. With your left hand, draw a circle counterclockwise with your stick around the diabolo. It is the same motion as when you unwrap an external wrap. The sun knot allows you to unwrap first without dropping the diabolo.

4. Make sure your right stick is aligned with the string and throw it counterclockwise in front of the left stick (as if you’re doing an external slowcide).

5. Let the stick go around twice before catching it. The first slowcide cancels out the unwrap and the second one transforms the sun knot into an internal wrap.

6. Undo the internal wrap to get back to the open string position or continue with a trick that starts in the internal wrap position, like the infinite suicide or the knee unwrap.

What’s Next ?

Once you are comfortable doing the double slowcide, you will have plenty of time to do stuff while the right stick is in the air (for example a pirouette or pushing your glasses up your nose).
