About

Do you often get stuck, not knowing which diabolo trick to learn next?
Do you wish you’d improve faster?
Do you want to create your own tricks and develop your style?

If you answered yes to any question, I think this website will help.

Diabolo is a lot like a skill tree in RPGs, where every trick (skill) you learn unlocks a new trick (skill) on the tree.

For example, if you want to learn the trapeze, it will be easier to learn the sun and how to throw and catch first.

Knowing what the diabolo skill tree looks like will help you improve faster and develop your technique so it will be easier to create.

Diabolo tricks are like Lego pieces, the more you have to play with, the more you can create!

Hi ! I’m Chloe.

I’ve been juggling with diabolos for more than 20 years and this is the website I wish I could have learned from when I was starting out.

This is where I’ll be sharing everything I know.

2004 me at university

I started juggling with diabolos in 2001 after watching an act from a circus show my mom recorded on a VHS. I found it so cool that I bought 2 diabolos the next day. And then… I struggled to learn tricks. I was living in an area with no diabolo players around, so I watched and re-watched the tape to the point it got erased to try to learn the tricks from the act. The learning process was hard and slooow !

I then tried to find tutorials on the internet and the only thing I could find was https://www.diabolotricks.com/ where the tutorials were written instructions with tiny animations (check it out, it hasn’t changed!).

After a while I found a French juggling forum where I discovered there was juggling conventions.

In 2006, I went to my first convention and for the first time could learn from fellow diabolo players. There I learned way more in two days than in weeks on my own. I also heard about THE diabolo forum https://diabolo.ca/ , the community and the feedback and advice I got there helped me improve a lot.

After 8 years, this is where I was :

I still had a lot to learn and I still do. My list of tricks to learn is several pages long.

DiaboloDB is the website I wish I had access to when I was starting out. I hope you’ll enjoy what I’m putting together and that your progress will be faster and easier than mine.

Have fun on your diabolo journey ! And share the diabolove !
