#23 – 1D Tuto – Back To Front Suns

This trick is part of the Diabolo Trick Roadmap (available on Amazon) which is a skill tree (containing 337 tricks from 1 to 3 diabolos) designed to give you a personalized list of tricks you’re ready to learn, taking into account the tricks you already know.

The back to front suns are two suns back to back, one going behind you and one in front of you. It’s a really nice upgrade to the basic sun.

This trick gives spin to your diabolo, so you can use it as a fancy way to accelerate it.

As always the tutorial is described for righties so if you are left handed switch right and left in the step by step explanation.

Prerequisites

#3 Sun

Step By Step Explanation

1. Start swinging the diabolo to your left as you would in a sun, but instead of keeping your hands at waist level, move them up to your head.

2. When the diabolo is at the highest point, you want it to go down behind your back. You have 2 options: moving your body by taking a step forward or moving the diabolo by using your wrists and pointing the sticks behind you.

3. Using the momentum of the diabolo, maintain the swinging motion to do the second sun. When the diabolo comes back down (behind you), your right hand follows the diabolo down while your left hand stays at head height.

4. When the diabolo is at the highest point, you want it to go down in front of you. You have 2 options: moving your body by taking a step back or moving the diabolo by using your wrists and pointing the sticks in front of you.

5. When the diabolo comes back down, your are back in the open string position.
