This trick is part of the Diabolo Trick Roadmap (available on Amazon) which is a skill tree (containing 337 tricks from 1 to 3 diabolos) designed to give you a personalized list of tricks you’re ready to learn, taking into account the tricks you already know.
The loop is a great stepping stone to very nice tricks (like the whip catch). It is very easy to learn as long as you remember to form a big V with your sticks. This trick can be done on the left or on the right, but if you are right handed you will find it more useful to learn with the two sticks in your right hand.
As always the tutorial is described for righties so if you are left handed switch right and left in the step by step explanation.
Prerequisites
Step By Step Explanation
- Put both sticks in your right hand, forming a big V.
- With your left hand, grab the string on the left of the diabolo.
- Pull the string to make the diabolo jump and catch the diabolo on both strings. The bigger the V your sticks form, the easier it will be to throw the diabolo between both strings.
- Throw the diabolo back up and, whilst it’s in the air, grab one stick with your left hand to catch the diabolo normally.
