This trick is part of the Diabolo Trick Roadmap (available on Amazon) which is a skill tree (containing 337 tricks from 1 to 3 diabolos) designed to give you a personalized list of tricks you’re ready to learn, taking into account the tricks you already know.
The sun is one of the building blocks of diabolo skills.
The motion of the diabolo in this trick is used for countless other tricks. It is also a real trick on its own.
Prerequisites
Step By Step Explanation
1. Swing the diabolo to the left, keeping your sticks close together.
2. Allow the diabolo to swing all the way around. The diabolo draws a circle in the air (hence the name of the trick). The sticks are at the centre of your sun.
3. When the diabolo is back down, you will notice that the string is twisted around the axle.

In this string position, you can still accelerate the diabolo as you would in how to start your diabolo, but you can’t correct the tilt because of the twisted string.
4. To go back to the open string position, swing the diabolo to the right, in the reverse motion of step 1, remember to keep your sticks close together. You can also turn around your diabolo drawing a sun on the floor with your feet.
