This trick is part of the Diabolo Trick Roadmap (available on Amazon) which is a skill tree (containing 337 tricks from 1 to 3 diabolos) designed to give you a personalized list of tricks you’re ready to learn, taking into account the tricks you already know.
The half-spaghetti is the building block for a lot of other magic knots. It is pretty easy to learn but you need a fair amount of speed before doing the trick (at least at first) because it takes time to perform.
As always the tutorial is described for righties so if you are left handed switch right and left in the step by step explanation.
This trick can be done on the right or on the left. This tutorial describes the trick on the left because it is easier in my opinion as your right hand does all the work.
Prerequisites
Step By Step Explanation
1. Cross your arms, by moving your right stick in front of your left.
2. Wrap the string around the left stick and the diabolo. Your right hand is going above the left stick and under the diabolo in a clockwise motion. Make sure your left stick is slightly pointing up, so the string doesn’t slide off the stick.
3. Bring both sticks close together and parallel to each other and throw the diabolo to the side. This will release the knot around the stick and diabolo.
4. Pull your sticks apart and catch the diabolo as you would in the throw and catch trick.
